Sickening Events global community of creators is renowned for delivering unforgettable experiences and hosting innovative, community-driven events. We understand the hard work involved in planning, managing, and marketing these events, and we know that the small details often make a big difference in enhancing customer experiences and fostering audience growth.
If you want to enhance your marketing strategy, increase your visibility on Sickening Events, and drive more ticket sales, it’s time to get comfortable with data analytics. One of the most powerful tools at your disposal is the use of unique tracking links. Don’t worry; we’re here to guide you every step of the way!
Why Unique Tracking Links Are Essential
Unique tracking links act like a digital breadcrumb trail, showing you exactly where an attendee’s journey began—think Hansel and Gretel, but without the witch! By using these links, you can determine which marketing efforts, such as a paid social media campaign or an email newsletter, led users to engage with your event page or purchase a ticket.
Tracking links enable you to see which marketing strategies are the most effective, helping you allocate your time and budget more efficiently.
How to Use Tracking Links
We’ve made it incredibly easy for event organizers to share their unique event listing links directly from their event dashboards. The entire process takes just a few seconds, freeing up more time for you to focus on other critical aspects of your event.
To find your unique tracking link, simply go to your Event Dashboard (see the screenshot below). The link already includes a tracking code, so all you need to do is copy and share it! You can even customize your URL, and the tracking code will still work seamlessly.
If you’re managing multiple events, you can quickly access all your URLs from the dropdown menu in the events dashboard—streamlining your workflow as your event approaches.
Dive Deeper with Advanced Tracking
Ready to take your tracking to the next level? You can create multiple unique links using Sickening Events Tracking Links tool to monitor the impact of each specific marketing channel.
For example, you can generate unique URLs for each of your marketing efforts—whether it’s an email campaign, a Facebook ad, or a promotional post on Instagram. You can even include a unique tracking link in your email signature!
To create a tracking link, log into your Sickening Events account, navigate to your Event Dashboard, and go to “Tracking links” under the “Marketing” section. Follow the simple steps in our tutorial video.
After entering a descriptive name for your tracking link (like the type of marketing campaign it’s for), click “Create.” Your tracking link will appear, along with data on page views, tickets sold, and total sales. If you duplicate your event, the tracking link will automatically copy over.
Sales data updates immediately, while page views may take a few hours to reflect. This slight delay means some links might show sales but not views initially. To monitor which links are generating traffic and sales, check back regularly on the tracking links dashboard—and don’t forget to congratulate yourself on your efforts!
Leverage Data with the Traffic and Conversion Report
Data analysis doesn’t have to be daunting. The Traffic and Conversion Report, available on your Event Dashboard, is a treasure trove of information. It allows you to monitor visits to your event page and discover which channels are driving the most ticket sales.
This report also provides valuable insights into how your marketing efforts are performing, along with data on how Sickening Events own promotional activities contribute to views and sales on your page.
By using unique tracking links, you can visualize the performance of each marketing campaign (such as emails or social media ads) in terms of page views and sales. This information can be extremely useful when refining your future marketing strategies, potentially saving you money and increasing effectiveness.
Hear from Our Creators: The Benefits of Tracking Links
Tools like the Traffic and Conversion Report are invaluable for Sickening Events creators seeking to understand which marketing channels drive the most ticket sales.
Take Selma Studer, founder of GONG, a popular in-person and virtual sound bath experience in London. Since joining Sickening Events in May 2021, GONG events have consistently sold out. Selma credits Sickening Events not only with boosting ticket sales but also with growing GONG’s follower base, noting that 20% of their sales come from Eventbrite’s discovery channels.
By analyzing GONG’s marketing performance through the Traffic and Conversion Report, Selma can distinguish between sales generated directly by GONG’s efforts and those driven by Sickening Events. “For us, 70% of traffic comes from Sickening Events, and 30% is direct,” she says.
This insight has been especially valuable for GONG’s virtual events, which have attracted a growing audience who discovered them via Sickening Events.
